Karina Beleno Carney

Licensed Acupuncturist, 

Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine

Karina Beleno Carney, Lic.Ac. FABORM has been practicing acupuncture, herbal medicine and TuiNa bodywork therapy since 2005. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and her Master’s degree from the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine, and she also studied at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Teaching Hospital in China.

Karina is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine, is a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine of the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM) and is a Certified Practitioner in TuiNa of the American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA). She is also a member of the Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Society of Massachusetts (AOMSM). Read more about her certifications below.

Certifications - MAOM

A Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine is earned at a nationally accredited acupuncture school. The AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine is located in Austin, Texas, and has a rigorous, comprehensive academic curriculum that includes extensive clinical training. The course of study includes "education in acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, biomedical sciences, mind-body exercise, Asian bodywork, practice management, case management, and clinical communications. AOMA’s herbal program is one of the strongest in the nation and AOMA is one of the few professional programs to integrate taiji and qigong into the curriculum." Certifications - NCCAOM

A Diplomate of Oriental Medicine is a practitioner who is certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM®) and has met the certification requirements for both acupuncture and Chinese herbology. It is a considerable professional achievement to earn the designation Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). NCCAOM certification indicates to employers, patients, and peers that one has met national standards for the safe and competent practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbology as defined by the acupuncture and Oriental medicine (AOM) profession. Certifications - ABORM

The ABORM has been formed by leading professionals in Oriental Reproductive Medicine who have come together voluntarily with a resolve to meet the patient and physician demand for a demonstration of knowledge of care in this field. We have recognized the need for a certification to maintain that practitioners who are treating patients with Oriental Medicine in the field of Reproductive Health are doing so with an advanced knowledge and experience, and to allow practitioners to demonstrate their knowledge through the process of voluntary examination.

The ABORM is a non-profit 501(C)6 corporation devoted to teaching, research, and the practice of Oriental Medicine as it relates to the treatment of reproductive disorders. The ABORM respects the training and lineage of all practitioners who work with reproductive disorders. Our medicine is holistic in nature, and that holism must be retained as we choose to gain advanced knowledge in the treatment of

fertility with Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. In the interest of the health of all our patients, and the advancement of the AOM profession, ABORM asserts the right of any practitioner to gain advanced knowledge in any area he or she chooses to study. Certifications - AOBTA

The American Organization for Bodywork Therapies of Asia promotes eastern philosophical approaches to health and well-being with Asian Bodywork Therapy (ABT). ABT maintains and restores physical, emotional, mental, energetic, and spiritual health by treating the human electromagnetic field as it is understood within the "Qi and Meridian" principles of Chinese Medicine, through various assessments, treatment strategies, and bodywork techniques. A Certified Practitioner of the AOBTA has completed a minimum of 500 curriculum hours in an AOBTA COSP School or Certificate Program. For more information, visit the AOBTA website.
